Make feathery finger puppets for your little ones and delight them with this easy DIY summer craft.
You will need:
- Foam Shapes
- Pom Poms
- Colorful Craft Pipe Cleaners
- Construction Paper
- Wiggle Eyes
- FEATHERS
- Glue
Start by measuring each finger by wrapping a piece of construction paper around the finger, trim the paper leaving a little extra room for the glue line. The finger puppets should cover the first 2 knuckles. Trim to fit, then glue along the edge, so you have what looks like a very wide ring. Use the Foam Shapes (you can often find Foam Shape Stickers) to create body shapes, heads, clothes for your puppets, whatever you’d like, really. Pipe cleaners make good wings, or whiskers. Larger pom poms would also make good heads or bodies. Use feathers for hair, or clothes. Try turkey feathers or rooster fluff for hair, ostrich fringe for puppet clothes, add hen feathers for color. Create any kind of animal or monster you’d like. This craft gives children a great way to express their personality through their finger puppets.
